Crores dug from field: Police unearthed ₹2.24 crore in cash from a jute field near Dipankar Bhattacharya’s home after his arrest in a corruption and relief misuse case.
Relief material seizures: Earlier raids recovered ₹80 lakh and around 4,000 government tarpaulins and blankets allegedly diverted from disaster relief distribution.
Probe widens fast: Investigators have also arrested Bhattacharya’s aide and other TMC-linked leaders, fuelling political storm and corruption allegations.”
