A Deceptive World
In today’s world, when a politician goes to jail on charges of murder and later comes out on bail or is released, thousands of people gather to welcome him. They garland him with flowers, blow conch shells and celebrate his return. Even in temples, priests may offer the first part of the worship to such individuals.
But if you dedicate your entire life to society and work for the welfare of the people, when you face difficulties, hardly anyone comes forward to stand by you.
This is indeed a deceptive world.
Perhaps, in such a world, being a good person is not always considered necessary. The person who can deceive others, manipulate people, or amass a mountain of black money and distribute some of it among a few people, while spending lavishly on self-promotion, may eventually be portrayed as a great person or even a public hero.
However, this does not mean that one should become a bad person.
We should continue to uphold honesty, integrity and humanity, even if the world does not always recognise or reward them. Ultimately, the true worth of a person should not be measured by the number of people who gather to welcome them, the wealth they accumulate, or the publicity they purchase, but by the values they uphold and the good they do for society.
