A Troubling Drift Towards Insensitivity
Society appears to have deteriorated to such an extent—becoming increasingly insensitive and arrogant—that its depth is difficult to comprehend unless one observes it closely. This erosion of empathy has touched almost everyone, though its degree may vary from person to person.
Compounding this moral and social decline is the alarming degradation of the environment and the growing emergence of dreaded diseases. These developments pose serious challenges not only for the present but also for the generations to come.
If these trends continue unchecked, our future generations may have to struggle far more than we do today, bearing the consequences of a society that has gradually drifted away from compassion, responsibility, and foresight.
