The Generosity of True Greatness
Dr Santosh Kumar Mohapatra
It is easier to share one’s sorrows, misfortunes, tragedies, and problems than to share one’s happiness. While suffering naturally evokes sympathy, joy often invites comparison and silent envy. Even many great individuals have faltered in celebrating the success of others, especially when they feel overshadowed by those they are expected to appreciate. True greatness, however, lies in the ability to rise and rejoice in the achievements of others with grace and sincerity.
Value Them While They Live
One of the strangest ironies of life is that people often fail to treat others with kindness while they are alive, yet express deep sorrow after their passing. True love is not meant to be demonstrated through regret, but through compassion, respect, and warmth during a person’s lifetime. If you genuinely care for someone, cherish them while they are still with you—speak kindly, act thoughtfully, and show your affection without delay. This timeless truth applies to every sphere of life, whether in our families, workplaces, social circles, or the world around us.
