Revenue & Disaster Management Department’s Achievement Booklet Released

  - Revenue Services Now in Every Hand.

Bhubaneswar, June 13 :Rajat Mohapatra darshan samikhya

                    The Achievement Booklet and video showcasing the accomplishments of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department over the last two years were unveiled and formally released by Shri Suresh Pujari, Hon’ble Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management at Lok Seva Bhavan.

On this occasion, while releasing the booklet, Shri Pujari congratulated and appreciated the dedication and tireless efforts of every officer & staff of the Department, 

from the Tahasil level to the State level. He expressed confidence that, building upon the achievements and successes of the past two years, the Department would scale new heights in public service in the years ahead.

                 The theme for the State Government’s second anniversary this year is “Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara” (Development Across Odisha). In this context, the achievement booklet highlights the Department’s reform-oriented initiatives, citizen-centric programmes, their successful implementation, and the roadmap for future actions. The booklet documents several significant achievements, including :

- Correction of Column-II RoRs. 
- Delivery of more than 2.5 crore revenue services under the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPS)
  - Reduction in land classification-related issues
  - Establishment of the Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu Land Cell
  - Opening of 108 new Sub-Registrar Offices 
  - Simplification and expeditious disposal & settlement of land-related cases
  - Census Programme 
  - Prompt disbursement of disaster compensation
  - Successful management of Cyclones Dana and Mantha with zero casualties.  

             These initiatives have helped bring the Department’s services and achievements closer to the people. The booklet also outlines several upcoming initiatives, including :

- “Ama Gaanre Ama Tahasil” (Tahasil at Doorstep) programme
- Establishment of the State Institute of Disaster Resilience (SIDR) to strengthen disaster management systems
  • A new Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act & Several other reform measures that are expected to be launched shortly. The Hon’ble Minister reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to making public services more accessible, efficient, and citizen-friendly. Shri Pujari further stated that one of the Department’s notable achievements has been the correction of misspelled English names of places in Odisha that had remained in use since the British era and did not accurately reflect their Odia pronunciation. He noted that the State Cabinet recently approved the correction of the spellings of 64 place names across the State. The Minister also informed that the Revenue and Disaster Management Department is fully prepared to address any challenges arising from the anticipated impact of El-Niño during the current year. Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Arvind Kumar Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department ; Shri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, Special Relief Commissioner and other senior officers of the Department.</code></pre></li>
