New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday intensified its criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of hypocrisy and labelling it an “electoral Hindu” ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections.
Arvind Kejriwal’s announcement of the launch of the “Sanatan Seva Samiti” and a monthly honourarium for temple priests and granthis.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the BJP alleged that the AAP government had been “distributing salaries to Imams for 10 years,” while now attempting to court Hindu voters with pre-election promises. The BJP listed several points to support its claims of AAP’s hypocrisy, including the party’s opposition to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, its decision to open liquor shops near temples and gurudwaras, and its continued pursuit of “anti-Hindu and anti-Sanatan” politics throughout its tenure.
