Former IAS officer Smt. Sujata Rout formally joined the
Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today. Senior leaders of the party stated that her induction would
further strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
At a special function held today at Sankha Bhawan, BJD President Shri Naveen
Patnaik formally inducted Smt. Sujata Rout into the party by presenting her with the
party scarf. Former IAS officer Smt. Sujata Rout joined the party as an ordinary party
worker. Shri Patnaik said that her long administrative experience would be
instrumental in strengthening the party’s organizational structure.
On the occasion, describing Shri Naveen Patnaik as a source of inspiration, Smt.
Sujata Rout said that she had served under his leadership as an administrative officer
for a long 24 years. She stated that she had joined the Biju Janata Dal to continue
serving the people of the state under the leadership of Shri Naveen Patnaik in the
days ahead. With the blessings of Lord Shri Jagannath and the support of lakhs of Biju
Janata Dal workers, she pledged to work with sincerity and dedication for the party
and the state.
Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and several
senior leaders of the party were present at the special function. Smt. Sujata Rout was
accorded an enthusiastic and warm welcome at Sankha Bhawan today.
