Jammu & Kashmir: In Sanatan Dharma, the month of Shravan (Sawan) holds special significance. Regarding the month of Shravan, Mahant Rohit Shastri, the head of Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic sansthan Trust, explained that some Shiva devotees will start the Shravan month (Shiva worship) from the solar month (Shravan Sankranti) and some from the lunar month (Shravan Krishna Paksha). Both methods are excellent. This year, 2024, Shravan Sankranti was on 16th July, Tuesday. Most Shiva devotees start from the lunar month, and the lunar month Shravan Krishna Paksha Pratipada is on 22nd July, Monday. The lunar month of Shravan will start from this day. The Shravan lunar month will be from 22nd July, Monday to 19th August, Monday. This means that the month of Sawan will be 29 days this time.

Third Monday of Shravan: 5th August

Fourth Monday of Shravan: 12th August

Shiva Puja According to Zodiac Sign

Performing Shiva Puja in the month of Shravan, Maha Shivaratri, monthly Shivaratri, daily, or every Monday brings excellent benefits and satisfaction to all Shiva devotees.

Aries (Mesh Rashi)

Aries devotees should perform abhishekam of Shiva with water mixed with jaggery, sugarcane juice, or honey. After the abhishekam, apply a tilak of red sandalwood on the Shiva Linga and write ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ on bilva leaves with red sandalwood as much as possible and offer them to Shiva along with red flowers. Chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ and donate Shiva Purana to 11 Brahmins.

Taurus (Vrish Rashi)

Taurus devotees should perform abhishekam of Shiva with cow’s milk and curd. Additionally, they should offer rice, white sandalwood, white ak, white clothes, and jasmine flowers to Lord Shiva and chant the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. Donate Rudraksha mala to 11 Vedic Brahmins.

Gemini (Mithun Rashi)

Gemini devotees should perform Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva with sugarcane juice. They should also offer bilva leaves, Shami leaves, whole green moong, bhang, durva, and kusha to Lord Shiva. Chant Shiva Chalisa and offer 11 Shiva Chalisa books to the Shiva temple.

Cancer (Kark Rashi)

Cancer devotees should perform abhishekam of Lord Shiva with milk, curd, and desi ghee. Apply a tilak of white sandalwood and offer whole rice, white rose flowers, and Shankhpushpi. Chant Shiv Ashtak 11 times and donate white clothes to Shiva devotees.

Leo (Singh Rashi)

Leo devotees should perform abhishekam of Lord Shiva with water mixed with jaggery, red sandalwood, and honey. Offer red flowers and apply a tilak of red sandalwood to Lord Shiva. Distribute kheer made of jaggery and rice as prasadam in the Shiva temple and chant Shiva Mahimna Stotra. Donate 11 malas of lotus seeds.

Virgo (Kanya Rashi)

Virgo devotees should perform Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva with sugarcane juice and offer betel leaves, bilva leaves, dhatura, bhang, and durva. Listen to or recite the story of Shiva Purana.

Libra (Tula Rashi)

Libra devotees should perform abhishekam of Lord Shiva with jasmine oil, curd, ittar, ghee, and milk. Apply a tilak of white sandalwood and donate white clothes. Offer sugar and kheer as prasadam to Lord Shiva and donate it in the Shiva temple. Chant Shiva Tandava Stotra.

Scorpio (Vrishchik Rashi)

Scorpio devotees should perform abhishekam of Lord Shiva with water mixed with jaggery, red sandalwood, honey, and Panchamrit. Offer saffron and red flowers to Lord Shiva, offer red halwa, and donate it. Recite the 1000 names of Lord Shiva.

Sagittarius (Dhanu Rashi)

Sagittarius devotees should perform abhishekam of Lord Shiva with milk mixed with saffron, turmeric, and honey. Apply a tilak of saffron and yellow sandalwood and offer garlands of yellow marigold flowers. Donate yellow clothes in the Shiva temple and chant Shiva Panchakshara Stotra.

Capricorn (Makar Rashi)

Capricorn devotees should perform abhishekam of Lord Shiva with water mixed with milk or wheat. Offer sesame oil and blue flowers to Lord Shiva and donate blue clothes in the Shiva temple. Recite the 108 names of Lord Shiva.

Aquarius (Kumbh Rashi)

Aquarius devotees should perform Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva with coconut water or sesame oil. Offer flowers of the Shami tree to Lord Shiva and chant Shiv Ashtak.

Pisces (Meen Rashi)

Pisces devotees should perform abhishekam of Lord Shiva with water mixed with saffron. Perform Shiva Puja with Panchamrit, curd, milk, and yellow flowers. Chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ and read Shiva Chalisa.
