‘Anish Sarkar has become the YOUNGEST EVER FIDE-rated chess player at the age of 3️⃣ years 8️⃣months and days.

Born on 26 January 2021, Anish grabbed the crown after competing in the West Bengal State Under-9 Open and the West Bengal State Under-13 Open in October. He has a FIDE rating of 1555 in the November 2024 list.

Anish Sarkar scored against three rated players at the West Bengal State Under-9 Open and he scored 5.5/8 overall to finish 24th in his first Classical rating tournament. In the West Bengal State Under-13 Open however, he wasn’t able to score a point against rated players but fulfilled the criteria to become a FIDE-rated player.

With Sarkar surpassed Tejas Tiwari to become the world’s youngest player with the FIDE rating.
