It hurts anyone’s mind when more details of the victims come out. Anu and Nikhil, who had returned from their honeymoon in Malaysia, were being picked up from Thiruvananthapuram airport when the accident happened on their way home. The incident took place just 12 km away from their house.

The accident, which took place just minutes before reaching home after returning from another country, has shocked relatives and friends alike. Anu and Nikhil got married on November 30. Anu was about to go to Canada with Nikhil who was working there. The honeymoon was fixed in Malaysia since relatives were living there.

The plan of the newlyweds was to return home to celebrate Anu’s birthday tomorrow followed by Christmas with family and then go to Canada. The two families have known each other for years. Moreover, both were members of the same parish. Nikhil is a mechanical engineer. He was in the Gulf till 2020 before leaving for Canada. He was working as a quality technician in Canada. Anu has completed MSW.

Anu and Nikhil were in the back seat of the car. Nikhil’s father Mathai Eepan and Anu’s father Biju P George also died. The accident took place at 4:05 am at Murinjakal in Kalanjoor. Biju is retired from the army. He was working as a security manager in a private hospital. It was Biju who was driving the car. Three people died on the spot and Anu died in hospital.
