A UAE-based Indian doctor, Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, has pledged a total of ₹6 crore in financial aid to the victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash, with ₹1 crore each going to the families of the four deceased medical students. He also announced ₹20 lakh each for five seriously injured students and for the families of doctors who lost loved ones in the crash. The money will be distributed through the Junior Doctors Association of B.J. Medical College.
In a post on X, Dr. Vayalil, founder and chairman of VPS Healthcare, a multinational healthcare group, mourned the loss of the students — Manav, Aaryan, Rakesh, and Jaiprakash — describing them as “future frontline heroes.
Manav, Aaryan, Rakesh, and Jaiprakash were preparing to save lives, not lose their own. The AI-171 crash took them from us. Pledging ₹6 crore to support their families and others affected,” he wrote and shared their photos.
