CASH OVER RS 4 CRORES UNEARTHED FROM HIS FLAT AT BBSR AND SEIZED.
HIGHEST EVER CASH SEIZURE IN THE HISTORY OF ODISHA VIGILANCE.
Following apprehension of Sri Debabrata Mohanty, Deputy Director of Mines, Cuttack Circle, Cuttack yesterday night for taking bribe Rs.30,000/- from a licenced coal vendor, simultaneous house searches were initiated by Odisha Vigilance at his residential flat ( Flat No 302, Nature’s Crest Apartment, Shree Vihar, Patia, Bhubaneswar), parental house at Mathasahi, Bhadrak and his office chamber at Cuttack. During ongoing searches, cash over Rs.4 Crore concealed in trolley bags, and in almirahs has been unearthed from his flat at BBSR and seized. Counting is in progress to ascertain the exact amount of cash. The cash recovery is the highest ever cash seizure in the history of Odisha Vigilance so far.
Also, cash Rs.1.20 Lakh recovered and seized from office drawer of Sri Mohanty and his possession

This apart, other assets unearthed include so far;
1.One palatial double storeyed building with area approx 2400 sqft at Pahala, Bhubaneswar.
2.Gold approx 130gms.
