A shocking murder unfolded in Maharashtra’s Jalna district, where a 22-year-old woman allegedly killed her mother-in-law but fled after failing to dispose of the body due to its weight. The accused, Pratiksha Shingare, was arrested in Parbhani a day after committing the crime.
Pratiksha, who had been married for six months, lived with her 45-year-old mother-in-law, Savita Shingare, in a rented house in Jalna’s Priyadarshini Colony. On Tuesday night, a heated argument escalated into violence when Pratiksha allegedly slammed Savita’s head against a wall and later stabbed her with a kitchen knife.
Woman’s Attempt To Hide Mother-In-Law’s Body
She tried to hide the body in a bag, intending to dispose of it. However, the weight of the corpse made it impossible for her to move, forcing her to abandon her plan and flee the house early Wednesday morning.
Later, the landlord discovered the body inside the bag and immediately alerted the police. A manhunt led to Pratiksha’s arrest in Parbhani, where she had taken refuge.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim died due to head injuries. Authorities are continuing their probe into the gruesome murder.
