Election results are not encouraging
Check and balance is necessary but did not happen
There was a time, when it was predicted that the BJP may be dethroned in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. But that did not happen. Rather Congress is likely to lose in Rajasthan. It will gain Telengana but TRS was against the BJP too.
Why did BJP be winning despite anti people policies and regressive governance and tax system. Certainly money and media power .
Basically, who wins not necessarily enjoy the support of more than 50% of voters. But support of maximum voters in a constituency. Just a variation of two to three percent of voters can make changes in electoral outcomes. That is why Modi frequently making campaigns.
When someone is hungry and suffering or unemployed, Modi is able to convince them that those situations are best for them. So, when someone is dying, he/she is thinking that probably death is only alternative for me. So ,he/she is not blaming ruling class for sufferings.
Further, many people’s mindsets have changed a lot. They are giving weightage to individual interest than mass interests. They are least concerned about how politicians are giving money to them. They don’t necessarily love good and honest people but people who gives them money. However, money is not only factors. Misuse of religious faith have contributions too. Communal polarisation payed too.
The news of failures of BJP governments are not reaching people. Around eighty percent of people and politicians are least concerned with ideology or philosophy. That is why one politician changes the party, his/her supporters also change party.
In Rajasthan, conflicts between Gehlot and Sachin Pilot and in Madhya Pradesh Jyotirnditya Scindia helped BJP’s cause.
After, final results are published, we can derive a clear conclusion. But what I believe is that the way BJP, RSS followers are serious, others are not equally serious . Social media is not used to the utmost capacity by Congress and left and progressive forces. Those focebook accounts expose the failures of BJP, their accounts are subjected to certain technical restraint so that their postings only reach 5% of their friends.
Similarly, when you write in WhatsApp groups exposing the failures of BJP, then followers of BJP will criticise you or give scurrilous remarks. But at that time followers of Congress or other progressive people maintain stoic silence. They never write .
There is need of reaching hetrogenous platforms, people. But we are confined to our like minded people only.
My question is not who will win but question is a strong opposition is necessary to maintain a check and balance in politics and survival democracy.. But that did not happen,.
