Bhubaneswar: The officials of the Customs Department today seized over 9 kg marijuana at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital here. The officials seized the marijuana from two women flyers who arrived at BPIA from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The marijuana was kept in 19 packets.
In a major breakthrough, the Customs Officers have reportedly seized Marijuana worth Rs 10 crore at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar and arrested two women passengers for their involvement in the drug smuggling attempt.
Based on passenger profiling, the Customs Officers intercepted the two Indian women passengers after they landed from Kuala Lumpur on January 4 i.e is on Saturday, said sources adding that upon systematic search of the checked-in baggages, the officials found as many as 19 vacuum packed transparent packets inside them
