Dignitaries supported the IDCA 6th One-Day National Zonal Cricket Championship for Deaf in East Coast Railway Stadium, Bhubaneswar & SOA Cricket Ground, Bhubaneswar for inclusivity.
Bhubaneswar:-The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) organised the 6th One-Day National Zonal Cricket Championship for Deaf in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from April 26th to 30th 2025. Five specially abled men’s teams from different parts of the country will compete on the field to clinch the coveted champions trophy.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of Prof. Dr. Sharmila Subramanian, Principal – ASTHA School of Management as the chief guest. He praised IDCA for taking the initiative and encouraged the players for the upcoming matches. Sh. Dillip Kumar Patel, Deaf Leader, TMG Enterprises, Sundargarh, Odisha, were the Guests of Honour.
Sumit Jain, President, IDCA, commented, “The energy of the players during the entire series was truly enthralling and I would like to congratulate them all for making the series and action-packed competition to watch. The way each player proved their mettle in each match of the tournament highlights that there is a strong urge for promotion of cricket among the hearing-impaired athletes all over the world. Their enthusiastic participations in this National Zonal really speak for the bright future of deaf cricket, and it works as an inspiration for several other players.”
Odisha Deaf Cricket Association is hosting the championship at Bhubaneswar. ODCA expresses its gratitude to IDCA for organising this event at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. All the facilities required for conduct of this 5 day championship has been ably steered by Sagarkanta Senapati, General Secretary, ODCA.
The five-day tournament kick d off with a special opening ceremony organized on Saturday, April 26th at 9 AM at East Coast Railway Stadium, Bhubaneswar & SOA Cricket Ground, Bhubaneswar.
