This actor’s father was a clerk. It is not well known but he used to sleep at the Mumbai railway station during his struggling days. His name is Anupam Kher.

Anupam Kher made is film debut with Saaransh that was released in 1984. He has been part of more than 540 films with a can illustrious career boasting of versatile characters. Reportedly, he has a staggering net worth of Rs 405 crores. His annual income has been reported to be approximate Rs 30 crores making it a Rs 3 crore a month, almost!

But, he lives in a rented home after all the success he amassed. In an interview he explained his ideology of why he does not invest in real estae. “I live in a rental apartment because I didn’t want to own a home. Why should I do it, and for whom? It feels right to pay rent every month and just live. The money you would use to buy a house, you can keep in your bank and use it to pay the rent,” he spoke with Curly Tales.

He also shared his reasoning behind this decision, stating, “I believe you should give something to people while you’re alive, not leave everything behind when you’re gone.” He acknowledged that while he did buy a house for his mother in Shimla, it was more out of a playful comment he made to her, saying, “Your son is a big star.”

He married Kirron Kherin 1985. He adopted Kirron’s son Sikander from her first marriage.
