Ratha Saptami darshan !
This is a rare view of Sūrya Bhagavān, the main deity in the Ādityapuram Kşētram in Kottayam, Kerala. Ādityapuram Kşētram is the only Kşētra in Kerala where Sūrya is the main deity. The Lord resides here in His form as chaturbāhu, the upper arms bearing Śankha and Chakra and the lower arms rested on His lap in dhyāna mudra. The original presence of Bhagavān Sūrya here is believed to date back to the Trētā-yuga.
A unique feature of the Kşētra is that oil offered for abhişēkam is all absorbed by the vigraha.
The main prasādam in Ādityapuram Kşētram is raktachandana (red sandal) paste.
Aum Śrī Ādityāya Namah! 🙏
