ଗୋଟିଏ ଦୁର୍ନୀତି ମାମଲା: ଅଫିସର ଗିରଫ, ନେତା ବର୍ତିଲେ!

In Jharsuguda Municipality, mosquito oil (MLO) was purchased at ₹740 per litre, instead of the actual price of ₹80 per litre, resulting in a financial loss of ₹61.44 lakh to the government exchequer.

This purchase was made through a criminal conspiracy.

Investigation by vigilance revealed that the supplier had participated in the tender process by submitting three quotations under different names of his family members.

The Vigilance Department arrested the Executive Officer (Manoj Tandi) of Jharsuguda Municipality, two officers from the sanitary wing, and the supplier.

However, the current Municipal Chairperson (Rani Hati), couldn’t be arrested yet, despite being named in the Vigilance FIR.

The chairman could get 11 days to obtain a High Court restriction against arrest through an anticipatory bail petition!
