Varanasi: For the construction of a pillar for the ropeway service, the VDA started the demolition of a four-storied building in Luxa area on Saturday. The VDA team led by its Secretary Ved Prakash Mishra, Joint Secretary Parmanand Yadav and other officials, reached Luxa on Saturday to carry out the demolition for construction of tower-25 under the ongoing ropeway project. As building owner and nearby shopkeepers were already informed about the demolition, they vacated the premises beforehand.The VDA Secretary said that compensation provisions are in place for private landowners affected by the ropeway project,

particularly those with land under the alignment of tower number T-25. Landowners have been instructed to submit necessary documents to the tehsil or authority office, after which compensation will be issued according to regulations.The ropeway project, aimed at alleviating traffic issues in the city and modernizing the public transport system, has been gaining momentum. Consequently, the building was demolished to clear the site for the construction of pillar number 25 of the ropeway.
