Taliban bans women from talking to other women

Minister Khalid Hanafi has banned women from talking not only to men, but also to other women, and their voices are not allowed to be heard by adult women.

The Taliban have previously introduced a number of bans on women: they are not allowed to study, travel without a man, or communicate in public. Women are also banned from visiting parks, playing sports, or swimming. Beauty salons and women’s shelters have been closed, and a law aimed at protecting women from violence has been repealed.
