NEW #COVID VARIANT ALREADY IN HALF OF THE U.S.?!

The New #XEC COVID variant, a recombinant of previous strains, is spreading across the U.S. and Europe.

While cases in the U.S. remain low, around 100 have been detected across 25 states, including California, Texas, and New York.

XEC is similar to past Omicron variants, causing common symptoms like sore throat, cough, fatigue, and fever.

Experts are unsure if XEC will dominate this fall, but the latest vaccines are expected to provide protection.

Testing, vaccination, and antiviral treatments are tools managing the variant.
