It is deeply concerning that Case No. W.P. (Crl.) 549/11 in the Odisha High Court, involving such grave matters as the murder of a woman, Domestic Violence against a woman, violation of human rights, and misrepresentation of the victim’s property, was closed without a proper hearing or investigation, despite a clear court order.
The closure of this case, even after collecting substantial evidence through the RTI Act, raises serious questions about the justice delivery system and adherence to constitutional principles. Such actions not only undermine public trust in the judiciary but also set a dangerous precedent for the neglect of victims’ rights and due process.
This situation has shocked many legal professionals, highlighting a need for transparency, accountability, and a thorough review of the judicial procedures involved in this case. Justice delayed is justice denied, but justice ignored is a betrayal of the very principles upon which our legal system is founded. It is imperative that this matter be revisited to ensure that truth prevails and justice is served.
