Nimbus – A Celebration of Indian Classical Dance by Kalingayana Touryatrikam Held in Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar: The two-day Indian classical dance festival “Nimbus”, organized by Kalingayana Touryatrikam concluded on a grand note at the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre Auditorium.

The festival brought together the vibrant tapestry of India’s classical dance heritage, featuring spellbinding performances by artists and students from various institutions across the country. The event was envisioned to promote and preserve Indian classical dance forms while providing a platform for emerging talents to showcase their art.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries including Ekamra MLA Shri Babu Singh, Deputy Director of the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture Smt. Suchismita Manish, and Corporator Shri Ramachandra Ransingh, who attended as chief guests. They commended the efforts of the organizers and emphasized the importance of cultural preservation through such initiatives.

Dancers from both within Odisha and other states participated in the festival. The audience witnessed an eclectic mix of classical traditions—the grace of Odissi, the vigor of Sambalpuri folk, and other regional styles. Particularly appreciated were the performances by the students trained under acclaimed gurus:

• Shri Saroj Kumar Dehuri
• Guru Shri Niranjan Pradhan
• Shri Subhendu Dash
• Smt. Mita Das

In recognition of their dedication and artistry, 150 performers were felicitated by the distinguished guests. The awards symbolized encouragement for young talents and appreciation for seasoned practitioners.

The event also saw the gracious presence of Trust Chairman Shri Anshuman Mishra and renowned Odissi exponent Guru Smt. Puspita Mishra, who have been the guiding forces behind this cultural initiative.

The festival was hosted by Ms. Sriyashree Pati, whose eloquence and stage presence kept the audience engaged throughout the event. Ms. Adyasha Mishra efficiently coordinated the entire festival with remarkable dedication.
