The Union Road and Transport Ministry has taken an important decisionl regarding toll tax. The Union Road and Transport Ministry has made new rules regarding toll tax. Now private vehicles equipped with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) will get exemption from toll tax if they travel up to 20 km.

This system has been implemented with the objective of providing relief to the drivers. The new policy will only benefit vehicles in which the GNSS system is working and drivers can cover a distance of up to 20 km.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Transport, private vehicle owners will not have to pay any tax for traveling up to 20 KM daily on highways and expressways. However, this exemption will be available to those who have GNSS system running in their vehicles. Whereas, if private vehicle drivers cover a distance of more than 20 km, the toll will be charged based on the actual distance.
