man secretly married for the second time without divorcing his first wife. When the truth came out, both wives demanded that he stay with them. After a long dispute, a unique formula was agreed upon through police family counseling.
As per the agreement, the husband will spend three days a week with his first wife, three days with his second wife, and will have one day off to decide where he wants to stay. This peculiar incident happened in Bihar.
The first wife, a resident of Rupauli, approached the Purnia Police Superintendent, Kartikey Sharma, with a complaint. She alleged that her husband had abandoned her and their children, providing no financial support. She later discovered that he had married another woman seven years ago without her knowledge.
When questioned, the husband admitted his mistake. He wanted to return to his first wife and children, but his second wife opposed it. He also stated that the second wife had children too and threatened him whenever he tried to leave.
Police officials warned the man that marrying another woman without divorcing the first one is illegal, and he could face legal action. The second wife was also criticized for marrying him despite knowing about his first marriage.
Initially, the agreement was for four days with the first wife and three with the second, but disputes arose again. Finally, to avoid further conflict, the three-three day formula was decided.
This unusual settlement was reached at Purnia’s Family Counseling Center, which resolved 14 cases that day
