Brief of the case
On 12.01.2025 at 12.35 AM, IIC Gopalpur PS along with PS staff were performing Night patrolling. While they were returning from Ambapua side after performing night patrolling duty in the morning infront of Income Tax chhak, Ambapua they found a white colour Maruti Suzuki XL6 Car bearing regd No. OD 02CK-1368 was coming from Sanakusastali side in high speed and suspicious manner. Police intercepted the vehicle at Income Tax Chhack and caught three persons including driver of the said car. On being asked they disclosed their name and address and they were fumbling out of fear.
Thereafter, IIC checked inside the car and found 02 jerry bags inside the back seat of the car from which the strong smell of ganja was emanating. On interrogation the detainee stated that, the said ganja belongs to one Samir @ Mithun Rout of village Angaragaon, PS- Beguniapada and today they were transporting the said ganja from village Angaragaon to Berhampur Railway station in the said vehicle to pass the same to buyers of Visakhapatnam .
So, they agreed with Samir @ Mithun Rout and while proceeding to Railway station, Berhampur on the way at Income Tax Chhak they were intercepted by the Police.
On weighing the jerry bags all total 44.4 kg was seized along with the white colour Maruti Suzuki XL6 Car.
The investigation of the case is in progress to arrest the absconding accused.
