SC Directions to Modi Govt on OROP –

Clear all OROP dues by Feb 28, 2024, SC directs Centre.

Pointing out that the Central Government was Cinstitutionaly Duty-bound to Comply with the SC 2022 Judgement in terms of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, the Supreme Court Monday directed the government to pay pending OROP arrears to six lakh family pensioners and gallantry award winners by April 30.

Instructing the government to pay OROP dues to retired servicemen aged 70 and above in one or more instalments by June 30, 2023, the apex court directed it to clear the dues of 10-11 lakh pensioners by February 28, 2024, in three equal instalments,
